The Moo-Seum

There is nothing like a trip to the museum (or "moo-seum" if you are Bennett) to channel boundless toddler energy and curiosity. But you don't have to always go to the Children's Museum to do that. Today we took a quick trip up to San Francisco to check out the Yves Saint Laurent exhibit at the de Young Museum in Golden Gate Park. Turns out the exhibit, and the park, were the perfect thing to do on a Saturday afternoon.

Bennett had such a good time just running free in the courtyards and on the grass in front of the museum. That would have been enough for him to call it a day! But even inside the museum, he was interested in checking out everything. Upon entering, there is this incredible sculpture called Systematic Landscapes done by Maya Lin (she designed the Vietnam Memorial in D.C.). It is made entirely of wooden blocks. Blocks! Bennett's favorite! We had to keep telling him that he could not make choo choo trains with these blocks.

The YSL exhibit was on the second floor so the next big adventure was the stairs. Climbing the stairs was so much fun! Bennett wanted to do it again and again.

Finally - Yves Saint Laurent! Rows and rows of haute couture, some beautiful, some questionable. When I say questionable, I mean this dress:

"Look Bennett! What do you think?"

"Looks like corn!"

Smart boy.
