It is 6:30am and we are supposed to leave in a few hours and head to the harbor for our family cruise to Mexico. I think I have slept maybe 2 hours at most. Bennett has been sick this week with a cold and cough, and I was so worried that I took him to the doctor twice - on Monday and on Wednesday. I wanted to make sure he got the OK from the doc to go on this cruise. He got the OK, along with the recommendation to bring his inhaler and for the most part, he seemed ok for Thanksgiving and the day after. But Murphy's Law always manages to work its way into the equation and the night before we leave for a week long cruise along the Mexican riviera, Bennett can't sleep and is crying all night because his ear hurts. Argh! He has all the signs of an ear infection and we are leaving in just a few hours!
I end up paging his doctor and the one who is on call agrees to phone in a prescription for antibiotics to the nearest 24 hour pharmacy. Whew! Just waiting to pick it up now.I just pray this thing works fast because I want Bennett to enjoy this trip and we do NOT want to end up in a hospital in Mexico on our vacation!
