And the boys were all sleeping all snug in their beds

It's 3:30 in the morning! Mommy can't sleep! Waaaaaaaaahhhh!

Bennett woke up around one this morning and then came to wake me up to tell me he had to go potty. So in a way, I didn't mind having whatever pleasant dream I was having - interrupted by a pee pee call. Tried to go back to sleep but kept tossing and turning, and its is now two hours later and I still can't sleep. While the boys are asleep,I blog.

So you're probably wondering - where are those cruise pictures! Well, I can't seem to find the camera USB cord so I can download the pictures. They're trapped. Not to worry, I have grand visions of cleaning our house the day before new year, so I am optimistic that I will find the camera cord then.

The holiday prep has been pretty mellow thus far. We continued our Christmas Tree tradition of going to Home Depot, picking out a cheap tree that isn't even opened (it's still wrapped up in all the netting) and tossing it, lovingly of course, into our trunk. It's always a surprise what we end up getting - but always in a good way. J has got some mad tree trimming skillz so our $20 Xmas Surprise tree never disappoints. Our theme this year is the 80s - those big bulbed colorful Xmas lights, cheesy gold garland. Again, once I find that camera cable, you'll see.

Bennett is enjoying all the Xmas fanfare. Today he came home from school and kept saying "well, hello Mrs. Claus!" He had his first ever school Xmas recital last week and had been practicing singing Jingle Bells and Rudolph for weeks. But when his class went on stage, all red-lipsticked-nosed and wearing brown paper antlers, he didn't feel like singing. I think he was more in shock at the tons of crazy parents in the audience holding up cameras, waving and making goofy faces. (By the way - Bennett's NEXT big performance will be June 13 at the San Jose Performing Arts Center! He will be in the school's production of Alice in Wonderland. So save the date if you want to see him dance like a flower.)

Luckily, we are staying put this Christmas. No more traveling. Time for us to figure out those resolutions for 2009.
