Birthdays, Tile Guys & Plumbers, Oh My!

We are all so tired after a long weekend of birthdays and home improvement. We celebrated J's birthday at Chenery Park for dinner. We've been going there for years for J's birthday, but this is the first one with Bennett. Bennett didn't eat much (he's still sick so not much of an appetite...especially for things like tatsoi) but he didn't mind a bite of Daddy's warm chocolate cake!

The rest of the weekend was spent trying to fix up our Daly City house and get it ready for renting it out again. We decided to re-tile the bathroom. Or rather, hire someone to re-tile the bathroom. Of course, with home ownership - one thing always leads to another. The tile guy (found him on Yelp!) was demolishing our baby-pink and baby-blue tiled bathroom and ran into an issue with a leaky shower faucet. So next, we had to call a plumber! I called three plumbers to get estimates, picking them randomly from Yelp, and the last one I called was the one that could show up right away. Turns out, this plumber knew J -- they were childhood friends - and hadn't seen eachother in over 20 years! Well, of course I cancelled the other 2 plumber estimates and stuck with J's childhood friend. It was a sweet reunion - lots of catching up between those two, all while sitting in our now demolished bathroom.

Anyways...onward we go to Monday. Bennett sends a big hug and congrats to:
- Auntie Megan for graduating from high school (sorry we missed your party)!
- Auntie Thea for passing her board exams to become a full-fledged nurse!
- Auntie Judy for passing her tests to become a full-fledged coiffeuse!
- Tita Nanita for passing all her university exams -- way to go!
