Soup's On!

For the longest time, Bennett did not eat much of anything except for crackers. All kinds of crackers: graham, goldfish, wheat thins, you name it. I would pick him up from daycare and read his daily report which always said "refused to eat his lunch." The only time he would ever eat is if we would take him for Japanese food and there he would happily munch on veggie tempura (yay! veggies!), rice and tofu. He would also eat it if we ordered take out, and would in fact seem to get excited whenever he saw a white styrofoam box. His Godfather, Ron, was here this past week and suggested we try putting regular homefood in a styrofoam box, just to see. Haven't tried that yet, but will do so soon!

Anyway, while Ron was here, we went to eat at the new Curry House restaurant in Cupertino. Japanese curry. Yum. Bennett loved it of course and ate like a horse! I have a feeling if I were to try sashimi on him, he'd love that too (Thank God!)

Today, though was different. We were having lunch at Max's at the Stanford Shopping center and I was about to order fries - because he will sometimes eat fries and chicken nuggets but I hate offering him so much fried food (remember the tempura?). He turned to me and said "Soup! Soup! I want soup, mommy!Sooooooooooouuuuuuuupppppp!" I have NEVER heard this request come from him before so I ordered a chicken matzo ball soup. And he ate it all. Yay! He's gone beyond Asian and has started to sample Jewish food! What do you think - should I try latkes next?
