I just signed up for the Upromise service in order to help save money for Bennett's college education (just 16 short years away!. By using my credit card for shopping, dining, gas, groceries etc., I get a percentage back in rewards that go into Bennett's account for college. Or, if I shop through any dozen of retails sites by going through Upromise's page first, I also get rewards that get deposited into Bennett's account. You guys can do this too -- either for your own kids (or for a student loan you have that you haven't paid off yet?) or if you want to contribute in some small way to Bennett's college fund just by putting $60 in your gas tank - let me know and I'll invite you into Bennett's network. It's free and very little effort involved.
UPDATE: Argh! This doesn't work with 529 plans administered by Fidelity Investments which is what we have! Rats.
