Happy New Year! Hope everyone had a great holiday. Bennett sure did. We spent some time in L.A. with the family and got to visit with his Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Randel, Great-Grandma, Aunties, Uncles and all his many Great-Aunts and Great-Uncles. Whew! Big family! Bennett of course got a lot of wonderful gifts from everyone, including this Kawasaki ATV and a fabulous Luchador hat/mask.
We also spent New Years Eve with his Lola and Auntie Chris and Uncle Jerz and the whole Huab family in Daly City. Bennett had such a good time playing with the noisemakers.
At 19 months old now, Bennett has become quite the firecracker. He has truly begun to test his mom and dad with just about everything. At his Grandma and Grandpa's house, he took a flashlight and held it over the bannister on the second floor of the house. Even after hearing "No, don't drop it" he looks at us, gives a sly little smile and boom - bombs away! He enjoys running around in circles, taking photographs with our digital camera (stay tuned! I'm putting together his own flickr gallery so everyone can enjoy his high art), eating green beans and blueberries and listening to his own screams. His latest words are "rhinocerous" and "uno, dos" and he is very demanding with me now: "Mommy! Down! Get down!" (as in "Mom, get your butt off the couch and get down on the floor with me and play with me NOW!" He LOVES to sing and listen to songs, especially "Mary had a little lamb" and "Itsy Bitsy Spider." Bennett is also incredibly observant. He watches everyone and notices all the details, including what shoes you are wearing or what watch you are wearing. With his Grandma, he remembers what coffee mug she used so whenever he sees the coffee mug he shouts out her name.
More adventures to come in 2008. Happy New Year to all!
