Fourth Generation Artist- entry from Dad

Bennett Deyto

Bennett is a painter. I was happy to see in his bucket at school today that Bennett painted his first painting. It was a series of colorful dots on a photocopy. I am very proud of him. He comes from a long line of artists—painters (I am the only photographer). They concentrated on traditional Philippine rural landscapes. Art has been passed down from one generation to the next, it started with his great grandfather Rufino Huab. Then was passed down to my uncles Amado and Romehoh Huab, then was passed down to my cousins Lex and Lou Huab, and me and my sister Chris. And now, Bennett (though he is at a very young stage) and his cousin Abigail show that art will continue on. My family for generations have created work based on the landscape which surrounds them, I look forward to seeing Bennett develop his eye, and learn how to share that with the world around him.
