Happy Bastille Day

Instead of going out as planned this weekend, I am home taking care of my two boys. Bennett has had a case of diarrhea since last Thursday and now John is out of commission. I am washing my hands like an obsessive compulsive freak right now and spraying Clorox disinfectant spray on doorknobs and faucet handles because I SO do not want to get what they have. I've been there. Many times this year and as I said in a previous post...i'm sick and tired of being sick and tired!

I have a moment of peace right now as both John and Bennett are sleeping. I just enjoyed the best darn tuna sandwich EVER and my newest discovery from Whole Foods - freeze dried Japanese pumpkin, freeze dried green beans and freeze dried apple. I've been on the search for freeze dried veggies because I thought since Bennett likes the freeze dried banana bits you can get in the baby section of the supermarket, maybe he'll go for freeze dried peas and freeze dried carrots, etc. That way I can feel like a good mom giving him his full serving of fruits and veggies. His appetite has been pretty weak lately though he does seem to want to eat at night, especially if we happen to be eating too and even moreso if it is out of a white, styrofoam to-go box. I don't know why but he seems to think that anything in a white, styrofoam to-go box must be good so he is more open to opening his mouth then.

Anyway, Happy Bastille Day. I'm going to try to catch a quick nap myself before the fun begins again shortly.

Oops...messed up my earlier comment. Hope the boys are doing better. Pete's office celebrates Bastille day every year and this year I joined them and brought a quiche (the only Frenchy thing I could think of).

I love freeze dried veggies and fruits...the brand I get are "Crunchies" and my favorites are the peas, corn, and strawberries. I throw the peas and corn into salads and the strawberries (or any fruit)adds a little zing to boring cereals without added sugar.
