He Can Walk the Walk, But Can He Talk the Talk?

Turning one has meant a whirlwind of change for Bennett. A month ago, he started walking and everything is different now! Not only can he get around everywhere, but his behavior has changed too. I'd say a little more on the whiny/needy side. He used to love to eat anything and everything. Now he just won't touch pasta. Ravioli? Nope. Mac and Cheese? Uh-uh.

Now, a week after his first birthday...the changes keep coming! He's talking! I now know what he is thinking because he will always point to it. If he's hungry, he'll point to the big green barrel of crackers on the countertop. He can't say "cracker" yet but he says "bah-bah" -- which originally meant bottle or milk, but now is the stand in for anything he is hungry for. He can say "nana" for banana. When we walk around the neighborhood in his stroller, he points at the trees and says "cheeeee." And when he sees a dog it is "jugeee" for doggie. "Dada" is said more often than "mama" but he does say it. Finally, when we go to Target (no he can't say Target yet, but it wouldnt surprise me if he learns soon), there are these big, red balls in front used as a divider -- Bennett gets really excited when he sees these and shouts out "baw!" Oh, and the latest is "uh-oh" for anything that falls down. He loves saying "uh-oh" so much that he says it over and over again before falling asleep.
