First Haircut

Not wanting to subject our son to the bowl cut again, we decided to get professional help this time. We stopped by Super Cuts and ordered two heaping spoonfuls of haircut - one for the Dad, and one for the Peanut (I still refuse to get my haircut at Super Cuts and will faithfully go to Mai, the Vietnamese lady and pay too much money for what I probably could have gotten at Super Cuts but I don't care).

Unfortunately, it was one of the days where we were sans camera and sans cell phone-with-built-in-camera so we have no actual documentation of the actual haircut. Even the hairdresser said to us " So you don't have a camera?" When I explained we didnt have one, nor did we have cell phone ones (mine is broken and John's is out of battery) she even suggested going next door to the cell phone store to charge it up. We didnt do it - I think with haircuts for one year olds you have to act fast or you may miss the moment - so I'll do my best to describe it to you.

Bennett was sitting in John's lap while hairdresser lady was using clippers on John's hair. Both John and Bennett were wearing identical, purple smocks with Supercuts written in front. All you could see was John's face and his miniature - just the heads - no arms or hands - both staring at the mirror. Bennett was really good and quietly awaited his turn with the snip snip. After a while, he was getting ansy so hairdresser lady gave him some hair clips to play with. When cuttin' time came, he sat still for the most part. How do you want it? she asked. I wasn't sure what to say because I am not to hip on the latest little boy haircut styles. So all I said was - don't give him a bowl cut. As she cut - I watched VERY carefully, studying her every move and filing away the steps to cutting his hair in my memory so I could do it myself for his next haircut. For free.

Anyway, voila! Here he is with his new do. Doesn't he look like a big boy now?
